A Scene from Saturday
July 17, 2009 on 7:00 am | In Uncategorized |This scene occurred last weekend while Pete and I waited patiently to get a tire changed on my car.
Me: Let’s go away for the weekend.
Pete: That’s silly.
Me: Not silly, fun.
Later….
Me: Are you sure we shouldn’t go away?
Pete: Well…yeah, it’s too late.
A little while later…
Me: It’s too bad we’re not going away this weekend.
Pete: We should have gone last weekend.
Soon after….
Pete: Let’s go to Hampton Beach. Pack a bag.
Me: (too busy to answer due to the fact that I was already packing)
Thus, we spent two days at the beach:

On our hotel’s rooftop deck, overlooking the water:

Couldn’t avoid a stop at the oh-so-popular arcade:

Our winnings:

Oh, boardwalk food.

Going out to dinner:

At the beach:

Oh, did your post bring back memories! When I was a kid (9-13 years old), I lived in North Hampton, NH and we used to go to Hampton Beach all the time! I remember the first time my parents allowed me to ride my bike there with my friends! Oh, the arcade and the Skee Ball, the cotton candy, the summer days… just perfection! I recognize the hotel where you stayed. Our son loves it there and tries to get there with his kids once every summer. When our kids were young, Barry and I took our kids to Hampton Beach every Labor Day weekend for a day a the local water park and then lobster dinners at Captain Jack’s! Your photos make me want to go back this summer!! Wow… I love this post!! (and your eagerness to “get away”!)

Very funny exchange with Pete…hahaha. I’m glad you got to go away and have a good time before Pete left for his new job. Looks like a fun place, and it’s funny that Sharon used to go there! We must have known her in a former life…. what do you think, Sharon?
